Current Openings IT Operations Specialist - Calgary Our Calgary office has an opening for an IT Operations Specialist level III to join our team. The IT Operations Specialist III level, the focus shifts to strategic IT leadership, enterprise infrastructure design, and advanced cybersecurity. This role involves leading high-impact projects, designing and optimizing enterprise networks, implementing advanced recovery strategies, and mentoring team members across all levels. Expertise in tools like Splunk, Fortigate, and SD-WAN, as well as extensive experience with ITIL frameworks, is necessary. Candidates should have 8+ years of experience in IT operations or senior IT roles, with an ITIL Expert certification preferred. Reporting directly to the Manager, IT Operations, the IT Operations Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the highest level of IT service quality, reliability, and security, while driving business outcomes through strategic IT solutions. Duties + Responsibilities
- Process Improvement – Enhancing efficiency, scalability, and alignment with organizational goals through the design, refinement, and optimization of complex workflows.
- Developing and enforcing robust security strategies that align with firm policies, ensuring compliance with standards, addressing emerging threats, and safeguarding data integrity through proactive monitoring and recovery systems
- Bridges technical expertise with business goals, fosters team collaboration, and provides strategic customer support to drive impactful outcomes.
- Investigating new products, tools, and technologies to add value to the business, ensuring applications are on the right platform and positioned for sustainability.
- Ensure high-quality, reliable systems and services through proactive problem-solving, continuous monitoring, and systematic updates, driving operational stability, enhanced performance, and improved customer satisfaction.
- Bridges technical expertise with business goals, fosters team collaboration, and provides strategic customer support to drive impactful outcomes
- Demonstrating exceptional ability to identify, analyze, and resolve high-complexity problems with minimal oversight
- Designing and overseeing complex system architectures to ensure seamless integration of applications, platforms, and infrastructure, while collaborating with vendors and teams for sustainable, high-performance solutions
- Fostering a professional and positive environment by building cooperation, motivation, and confidence within the team, while effectively engaging with stakeholders to meet business needs

Qualifications + Skills
- Advanced degree or extensive experience in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, M365, and automation tools.
- ITIL Expert certification (preferred) or substantial experience applying ITIL frameworks in enterprise IT environments.
- Proficiency in networking fundamentals, M365 capabilities, Intune management, and identity access management (Entra ID).
- 8+ years in IT operations, systems administration, or a senior IT role.
- Tools: Azure Automation for process automation and orchestration, Fortigate for next-generation firewall protection, Splunk for advanced security monitoring and incident management, SD-WAN technologies for network optimization, advanced disaster recovery systems (e.g., Veeam, Acronis).
- Proven track record of delivering strategic IT solutions and process improvements
- Expertise in the mentioned tools and technologies, including advanced network optimization, security monitoring, and automation
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills
- Deep knowledge of ITIL processes, including service management, incident management, and continuous improvement.
Working Conditions
- Normal weekday office hours.
- Hybrid working environment (4 days minimum in the office), with on-call duties one week out of every six.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
