Reporting + Data Analyst - Edmonton

The Reporting + Data Analyst provides analytical, reporting, and data support to the firm’s financial reporting function. This role focuses on transforming financial and operational data into timely, accurate, and actionable insights that support strategic decision-making, profitability analysis, and operational efficiency across the firm. Initially, the role will support core financial reporting and analysis activities and will expand over time into broader firm-wide reporting, dashboarding, and advanced analytics.

- This role acts as a bridge between Finance, IT/data platforms, and legal stakeholders; ensuring data is reliable, well-structured, and presented in a way that enables clarity and action.
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, SQL-based reports)
- Translate complex financial data into clear, user-friendly visuals and insights for non-financial audiences
- Standardize reporting definitions, metrics, and data models to improve consistency and trust in data
- Automate recurring financial and operational reports where possible to reduce manual effort
- Partner with Finance and IT to ensure data integrity across financial systems and data sources
- Validate data accuracy and investigate discrepancies between systems and reports
- Document data definitions, reporting logic, and assumptions used in analysis
- Support continuous improvement of financial data structures and reporting processes
Qualifications + Skills
- Post-secondary education in Data Analytics, Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
- 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, or analytics
- Experience in a professional services environment is an asset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Working knowledge of SQL
- Experience with BI or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) is an asset
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

- Preparing DRR to register/discharge
- Obtaining Courthouse searches
- Obtaining Alberta Name searches

- Pulling WIP and DDIs for paralegals and posting invoices every month
- Gathering disbursements for Bill of Costs

This position will report directly to the Team Lead, Real Estate Services, this is a role you are responsible for all aspects of real estate transactions. - Use word processing, spreadsheet, database to prepare correspondence and legal documents in support of Real Estate transactions.
- Answer the telephone, schedule appointments and meetings, greet visitors and handle administrative and business details.
- Review Real Estate and Financing Contracts for pertinent information such as closing requirements and managing important dates.
- Review conflict searches and coordinate file openings.
- Perform due diligence searches such as PPSA, Land Titles, Bankruptcy, Court House and Corporation Registry with the ability to review the same and provide summary to responsible lawyers.
- Draft, prepare and organize documents required to complete residential and purchase transactions and financing transactions.
- Comprehensive review of lender instructions to determine funding requirements and the ability to draft security documents.
- Handle all Land Titles Office, and Personal Property Registry registrations and filings.
- Maintain efficient file system and have strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with clients, lenders, counsel and realtors independently.
- Handle trust fund deposits in accordance with our firm’s trust policy, cheque requests, time entry and billing.
