One of the core values of our Firm is to give back to the communities in which we work and live. As a result Field Law supports many community and charitable initiatives.
Over the last five years the Field Law Community Fund Program has awarded funds to support 68 organizations and charitable initiatives throughout Alberta and the Northwest Territories. With $400,000 donated in support of these local charities to date, we are excited to award another $75,000 in 2018! Winning Ideas will receive funding starting at $1,000.

Additionally, as a Firm we are particularly active in the areas of education, healthcare, at-risk youth, homelessness, women’s organizations, community and sports or arts and culture given our legal practices in these areas. Our Firm has a long and proud history of working to ensure a strong legal profession that functions in the public interest.
Field Law contributes, as a firm, to many worthwhile initiatives every year. Here is an example of some of our recent commitments:
Field Law has been a proud supporter of the Alberta Ballet since 1993. We continue our involvement with its Board of Directors and act as their legal counsel.
Alberta Diabetes Foundation
Funding life-changing diabetes research in Alberta Field Law is a proud annual sponsor and attendee of the ADF "A Night To Remember" Gala. Sharon Stefanyk has been a longtime volunteer of the Foundation.
Alberta Law Review
Field is an annual supporter of the Alberta Law Review and was also a major contributor to the Alberta Law Review's 50th Anniversary Endowment.
Calgary Folk Music Festival
Field Law is a long-standing and proud sponsor of the Calgary Folk Music Festival. In addition to our financial commitment, our partner Steve Eichler, contributed to the Board of Directors from 2001 – 2009 and continues to volunteer.
Canadian Bar Association
Field Law is a proud member and supporter of the Canadian Bar Association and the CBA Law Day.
Canadian Senior Curling Championship
A proud supporter of Fielder Glenys Bakker, Field Law continues to support the Alberta women’s curling champion. Glenys is a Legal Assistant and former Olympic medallist.
The Christmas Bureau provides meals to Edmonton families in need. Field Law has been a longstanding supporter of the Bureau and attends the annual Christmas breakfast.
Edmonton Pride Festival
Field Law is an proud supporter of the annual June festival.
Edmonton Community Legal Centre
The Edmonton Community Legal Centre provides effective advocacy and access to justice in a supportive environment to persons living with low income. Field Law entered into a long term pledge supporting the ECLC and its initiatives.
Folk on the Rocks
Folk on the Rocks is Yellowknife’s top summertime music and cultural festival, drawing performers from the NWT, Nunavut, and across the globe. Field Law is a proud sponsor of the festival.
Grant MacEwan University
Field donates an annual Bursary Award to Grant MacEwan for their Legal Assistant Diploma program.
Leilani Muir Graduate Research Scholarship
Funded by Field Law in honour of the historical legal victory won by Leilani Muir and hundreds of victims of sterilization; this scholarship was initiated and is funded via the Edmonton Community Foundation and the Calgary Foundation.
Rock ‘n’ Robes
Field Law is a sponsor of this annual charit battle of the bands where Edmonton’s legal community perform to raise funds that support and empower Edmonton’s at-risk youth.

The Rotary Club of Calgary

TEC Venture Prize
TEC Venture Prize was an Edmonton and area competition to support local entreprenuers. Field Law was a founding and proud annual sponsor of the competition.
University of Alberta
Field Law also funds the Dane Wintermute Hockey Scholarship awarded to an undergraduate Golden Bears hockey team member on the basis of excellence in hockey, tenacious effort, sportsmanship, leadership, academic standing and financial need.

University of Calgary Law School
Field Law is a proud supporter of the University of Calgary Law School.
Each year, Field Law's Edmonton and Calgary office commit one week to raising funds for the United Way in their respective cities. Field Law is very proud of its long-standing support of the United Way and the enthusiasm and commitment of all firm members from staff to partners. In addition to staff and partner individual pledges, Field Law is a major supporter of both the Edmonton and Calgary United Way fundraising initiatives every year.
