Francesca Ghossein
Francesca Ghossein is an Edmonton-based lawyer whose practice focuses on labour + employment and professional regulation, with experience in complex general litigation matters.

Francesca advises employers across a broad range of sectors, including post-secondary institutions and health services, on all aspects of the employment relationship, providing strategic and practical advice on workplace issues, human rights, accommodation, employment standards, discipline, termination, workplace investigations, and labour relations. She represents clients before courts and administrative tribunals, and is committed to providing clear, effective solutions to complex workplace challenges.

In her professional regulatory practice, Francesca assists regulatory organizations with a broad range of matters including complaints, investigations, discipline proceedings, governance issues, and judicial reviews. She also acts as independent legal counsel for disciplinary tribunals.

Francesca also has experience in constitutional and class action litigation. Her work includes complex constitutional matters involving significant public law and Charter issues, as well as class action proceedings, contributing to the development of litigation strategy and advocacy in high-stakes disputes. Francesca is committed to helping clients navigate complex legal issues through practical advice, clear communication and effective solutions.

Francesca completed her articles with Field Law and, before returning as an associate, clerked at the Alberta Court of Appeal, where she gained valuable insight into the judicial decision-making process. She received her bilingual Juris Doctor (Magna Cum Laude) from the University of Ottawa and her Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta.

Francesca is committed to serving her community. She recently served as President of the YWCA Edmonton Board of Directors, and is now serving as a Board Member of the Association des Juristes d'Expression Française de l'Alberta (AJEFA) and remains actively engaged in Alberta's French-speaking legal community.
