Chelsey Bailey, KC

Chelsey Bailey, KC, is an Edmonton-based Partner with more than 25 years of experience in civil litigation. Her practice focuses on health law and medical malpractice defence, representing health care organizations and professionals in complex medical negligence claims and professional regulatory matters throughout Alberta.

Chelsey represents health authorities, hospitals, long-term care facilities, emergency health services and health care professionals in medical negligence and professional liability claims. Her experience includes complex birth injury and brain injury litigation, as well as fatality inquiries under Alberta’s Fatality Inquiries Act.

She has defended a broad range of health professionals, including nurses, physicians, pharmacists, paramedics, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists and respiratory therapists.

Chelsey also acts as legal counsel to professional colleges and health profession regulatory organizations. She advises on matters including:

She also represents clients in Judicial Dispute Resolution proceedings, mediations and investigations by the Office of the Alberta Ombudsman.
