Ayushi Gupta

Ayushi Gupta is a Canadian Patent Agent in training, a qualified NCA candidate, Internationally Trained Engineer and Lawyer, and a Registered Indian Patent Agent, with over eight years of experience in intellectual property law. Ayushi specializes in patent strategy and prosecution, serving clients across various industries, including IT, telecommunications, automotive, and emerging technologies. She has extensive experience in drafting, filing, and prosecuting patents before Canadian, US, PCT, and Indian patent offices.

Before transitioning to Field Law, Ayushi worked with a Big 4 consulting firm and as an in-house counsel at an automobile company, where she honed her skills in IP drafting + prosecution, portfolio management, patent searches, and advising clients on freedom-to-operate, patentability, and IP due diligence.

Ayushi helps her clients in:

  • Conducting invention mining to determine potential patentable subject matter being generated from their products
  • Conducting searches for patentability, infringement and freedom-to-operate, competitive landscapes, validity and invalidity
  • Drafting, filing and prosecuting patents before the Canadian, US, PCT and Indian patent offices
  • Conducting IP portfolio management for clients to develop suitable IP prosecution strategies to create technology roadmaps
  • Supporting clients throughout the IP due diligence process including sale, license and purchase of patents and carrying out IP audit activities  
  • Advising clients on the development and timely update of IP policies
  • Advising R+D teams on laws and regulations for mitigating risks related to development, marketing, launching and selling of products across global markets
  • Training/mentoring research and development teams on basics of IP, IP risk mitigation and IP management.

Ayushi is passionate about training and mentoring R+D teams on IP management, risk mitigation, and the commercialization of innovation. Her combined technical expertise as a Computer Science engineer and her global experience in both Canadian and Indian IP law allows her to deliver practical, tailored solutions that drive business success and safeguard intellectual assets.
