Amanda Baker is an insurance, employment, and estate litigation lawyer in our Calgary office.
Amanda maintains a general civil litigation practice working with a variety of organizations, both large and small, along with individuals to settle disputes and ensure that claims are handled fairly and efficiently. She has a deep understanding of insurance policies, regulations and practices, and uses her knowledge to represent clients in the courtroom, questionings, mediations, and other legal settings.
Amanda has also represented clients in various areas of employment law including wrongful dismissal, human rights, employment contract review, and workplace policies. She has a particular interest in severance review and has helped many clients negotiate the complexities of their severance packages. She understands the emotional and financial implications of severance and is committed to ensuring that her clients receive fair and reasonable compensation and terms from both employer and employee standpoint. She has represented clients in matters before the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta and the Provincial Court of Alberta.
Before law school, Amanda attended North Carolina State University on a NCAA Division 1 golf scholarship where she earned her degree in business and minored in law and justice. At North Carolina State University, Amanda was a National Academic All-American and her golf team was consistently ranked in the top 20 nationally. Outside of school, Amanda has competed for her province and country at national and international golf championships.
