A tight rental market in Alberta has led to some landlords asking for a lot of personal information from prospective tenants. CBC heard from some tenants who said landlords they dealt with were asking for their social insurance numbers, copies of drivers licenses and bank account details. But just how much personal information are you legally required to hand over to someone like your potential new landlord?
