Michael Debinski

Michael Debinski is a member of the Field Law’s Insurance Practice Group in Edmonton. He was drawn to a career in law by a passion for research, problem-solving, and helping others navigate complex challenges. Prior to joining Field Law, Michael gained valuable experience through policy work with Indigenous Services Canada and legal research with the Alberta Investment Management Corporation.

A lifelong Edmontonian, Michael is proud to serve the community he has always called home. He has a strong interest in the ways the law shapes and impacts the lives of individuals, organizations, and communities, and he is committed to making a positive contribution both within and beyond his legal practice. Outside of the office, Michael remains actively involved in volunteer and mentorship initiatives, reflecting his belief in the importance of giving back.

During law school, Michael and his partner were awarded first place in the Morrison LLP Family Law Moot, a competition focused on children’s rights that highlighted their advocacy, communication, and oral argument skills.

Michael brings a thoughtful, client-focused approach to his work, drawing on a combination of academic achievement, research experience, and practical insight. He is committed to delivering high-quality legal service while continuing to grow as an advocate and trusted advisor.
