Team Member Fallback

Alicia Bossence is a Student-at-Law in our Calgary office. She came to law through curiosity and a long habit of asking questions, debating ideas, and following an argument wherever it leads. A genuine interest in people drew her toward a career where she could advocate for others and contribute to her community.

Her decision to attend law school was shaped by a mentor whose commitment to community service, mentorship, and access to justice showed her how much impact a lawyer can have beyond the courtroom. That example pointed her toward a profession where advocacy and giving back go together.

Before law school, Alicia spent several years in the service industry as a server and bartender. The work taught her to build relationships quickly, communicate clearly, and stay calm and solution-focused under pressure.

During law school, a practicum in Indigenous child protection law introduced her to the barriers that Indigenous nations, and Indigenous children in particular, face within the legal system. The experience left her focused on where the system falls short and on what lawyers can do so no one slips through the cracks.

Bringing people together is central to how Alicia works. Whether she is collaborating with colleagues or engaging with her community, she looks for meaningful connections. She is committed to using her legal education to support access to justice and to contribute inside and outside the profession.
