Teresa Tomkinson

Teresa Tomkinson is an Edmonton-based lawyer whose practice focuses on commercial leasing, lending, sales and property acquisitions. She advises large corporate clients, large banks and commercial lenders, land developers, national and provincial landlords, retail tenants and entrepreneurs throughout Alberta. She also collaborates with lawyers to serve clients in British Columbia, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

Teresa draws on her extensive experience to advise clients on a broad range of areas, including:

  • Business + commercial law
  • Banking + finance
  • Commercial land development
  • Commercial lending + financing
  • Commercial sales + property acquisitions
  • Commercial leasing
  • Commercial real estate law

Teresa takes the time to understand her clients’ priorities and objectives and ensures they are reflected in their agreements. While leasing, lending and financing transactions may appear similar, she recognizes that each agreement is different and requires an approach tailored to the client’s specific needs.

Teresa also assists clients as changing business and environmental considerations affect their commercial agreements. As clients invest in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for commercial assets and landlords move toward green leases, Teresa works closely with them to ensure their agreements reflect their specific priorities.
