Stephanie Martin is a lawyer in our firm’s Wills, Estates + Trusts group.

Her practice primarily focuses on estate and incapacity planning, including the drafting of wills, personal directives, and enduring powers of attorney. Recognizing that people often find these topics difficult to address, Stephanie works closely with her clients to understand their unique circumstances and create individualized estate plans which ensure loved ones are cared for and assets are distributed according to their wishes. Stephanie’s practice also involves preparing applications for probate or administration and advising executors and beneficiaries with respect to the administration of estates.

Additionally, Stephanie regularly appears in the Court of King’s Bench for proceedings relating to Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Applications (including appointing or terminating decision makers, and urgent applications), reviews, and examination and passing of accounts. With specific experience relating to the protection and support of persons with disabilities and capacity issues, Stephanie often helps her clients navigate the complexities of applying for different supports such as AISH, PDD, and RDSPs, to name a few.

Stephanie obtained her JD from the University of Windsor, where she received the Samia Rose Shaheen Memorial Award in Legal Writing. While in law school, Stephanie volunteered with Community Legal Aid which allowed her to gain valuable court experience. Stephanie also holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Political Science from the University of Calgary.
