Geoffrey Hope

Geoff Hope focuses his practice on labour and employment and general litigation matters for clients throughout Alberta. Employers of all sizes in the public and private sector and across a wide variety of industries rely on Geoff to provide strategic advice and representation in managing all aspects of their employment relationships, including discipline matters, collective bargaining, terminations, accommodation, organizational policy and competition issues. He represents employers before the Labour Relations Board, in labour arbitrations, before all levels of court and before the Alberta Human Rights Commission.  

In addition, Geoff serves as a legal advisor for health services, law enforcement and a variety of post-secondary institutions throughout Alberta, in matters involving institutional policy and governance, labour relations, human rights, student matters, contract matters, employment issues and administrative practice and procedure. 

In his general litigation practice, Geoff focuses on commercial lawsuits and arbitrations, various contractual, business and shareholder disputes, product liability litigation, construction disputes and professional negligence claims.

In addition to his extensive experience as an advocate and trusted advisor for his clients, Geoff also serves as an arbitrator and mediator of legal disputes between other parties, and conducts workplace investigations on behalf of employers.

Geoff has previously served on the firm's Executive Committee and is the former chair of the Labour + Employment and Litigation Practice Groups in the firm’s Edmonton office.
