Dawn Filippi

Dawn Filippi is Director, Professional Recruitment + Development at Field Law, where she leads the firm's strategy for attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining legal talent. She oversees all aspects of the lawyer lifecycle, from the recruitment and retention of summer and articling students and lateral recruits. Her work also spans professional development, mentorship, performance management, and career progression for associates across the firm.

Dawn is passionate about helping people learn, grow, and reach their full potential. She works closely with students, associates, and firm leadership to create meaningful development opportunities that strengthen individual performance while supporting Field Law's values and long-term goals. Whether designing educational programs, enhancing mentorship initiatives, or guiding lawyers through key career milestones, Dawn is committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning, collegiality, and professional growth.

Before joining Field Law, Dawn served as Director of Education with the Legal Education Society of Alberta, where she worked in continuing legal education, adult learning, and lawyer competency development. Combined with more than 30 years of experience working in the legal profession, she brings a practical understanding of the challenges lawyers face and a deep commitment to helping them build rewarding and successful careers.
