David Di Gianvittorio

David Di Gianvittorio is a lawyer in our Calgary office with a focus on Labour + Employment, civil dispute resolution, education law, and insurance law. David provides representation and strategic advice to clients ranging from individuals and small businesses to large corporations and public institutions, both provincially and federally regulated. 

David advises clients on a wide variety of legal issues, including:

• Employee discipline and termination;
• Severance negotiations;
• Workplace human rights and privacy issues;
• Workplace policy;
• Professional and regulatory law issues and enforcement;
• Occupational health and safety (OHS) investigations, prosecutions, and appeals of enforcement measures, including administrative penalties and Stop Work Orders;
• Quasi-criminal provincial and regulatory prosecutions, including in relation to matters concerning public health, traffic and commercial carriers, and the environment; and
• Civil dispute resolution.
  

David also helps post-secondary institutions on a range of issues, including civil litigation, human rights complaints and accommodation issues, and disciplinary actions affecting students and staff.

David has represented clients on a variety of litigation matters before the Alberta Court of Justice, the Alberta Court of King’s Bench, and various administrative bodies and tribunals.

Through playing football in his youth and with the University of Alberta, David developed effective time management skills, work ethic, and resilience which he carries into his practice.
