Robert Teskey, KC

We are saddened to share the passing of Robert H. (Bob) Teskey, KC, former Managing Partner and Counsel at Field Law, who passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025.

Bob devoted more than five decades to the firm and to the practice of law. He joined the firm in 1970 and was called to the Alberta Bar in 1971. Over the course of his career, Bob built a respected corporate and commercial practice, advising clients on complex business and litigation matters, corporate restructuring, securities, commercial real estate, and contract negotiations. He was also a trusted arbitrator and regularly acted as lead counsel on significant transactions across Canada and the United States.

As Managing Partner for more than 25 years, Bob played a defining role in the firm’s growth and direction. He guided Field Law through key mergers, including Field & Field with Perraton Masuch in 1991, Atkinson McMahon in 1996, and Williams & Co. in 2001. These milestones ultimately led to the firm becoming Field LLP in 2003, operating as Field Law today.

Bob’s leadership was marked by steady judgment, integrity, and a deep commitment to clients and colleagues alike. His influence is felt in the firm’s collaborative culture, its long-standing client relationships, and the high professional standards he championed throughout his career.

Bob will be remembered with gratitude and respect for his lasting contributions to Field Law and to the legal community.  Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult time.
