Tayler Tallent is an articling student with a strong foundation in legal research, public policy, and complex problem-solving. With a background in political science and health policy, she brings a thoughtful, analytical approach to her legal work and a focus on clear, practical solutions.

Before pursuing law, Tayler worked in Alberta’s energy construction industry as a proposal coordinator, where she developed a sharp eye for detail and strong time management skills. She later worked as a policy analyst at Alberta Health, where she supported innovative models for collaborative and patient-centred care and worked on stakeholder engagement initiatives that informed real-world policy decisions.

Tayler earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master’s in Political Science before completing her Juris Doctor at the University of Alberta. During law school, she competed in both the Wilson Moot and the Laskin Moot, served on the Alberta Law Review, and worked as a research assistant on rule of law issues. She interned with the Office of the Judge Advocate General and earned multiple academic awards, including the George Bligh O’Connor Silver Medal and the Jones and de Villars’ Prize in Administrative Law. Her writing has been published in both legal and political science publications.

Prior to joining Field Law, Tayler completed a clerkship with the Alberta Court of Appeal.

Originally from Edinburgh, Scotland, Tayler now calls Edmonton home. She is driven by a commitment to high-quality work and is energized by opportunities to help clients move forward through complex legal challenges.

Outside the Office

Tayler enjoys cycling with her twin daughters and husband while their dog insists on leading the way. She also practices Pilates and tries to keep a small garden alive.
