Kurt McLeod joined Field Law as an articling student in 2021.

Before articling, Kurt worked in the financial services industry as an Investment Advisor and partner in a senior wealth management group at a major Canadian bank. He advised business owners, professionals and multi-generational families throughout Canada and the United States. Prior to law school, Kurt worked in the film and television business in Los Angeles, and he continues to work with issues related to copyright and intellectual property in the entertainment and media business. 

Kurt is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 3 Candidate. He holds a law degree from the University of Toronto where he received The Schipper Prize for Advanced Business Law. He also holds an undergraduate degree from Georgetown University where he received The Ryan Medal for Advanced Philosophy with a focus on ethics.

Outside the Office

Kurt is a film enthusiast and has written several feature screenplays for Hollywood productions.  After living and working all over the world, he returned to his hometown of Edmonton to put down roots with his wife and young son. He now tries to spend as much time as possible outdoors in nature.
