Justin Denis

Justin Denis is a Calgary-based lawyer whose practice focuses on insurance defence litigation, general litigation and debt recovery. He represents insurers and insureds in a broad range of insurance disputes, with particular experience in injury claims defence, construction litigation, subrogated claims and insurance coverage matters.

Justin advises and represents clients on property loss, commercial general liability and automobile insurance matters. He also has experience with specialized insurance claims involving agricultural liability, municipal liability, casualty, directors and officers liability, wrongful dismissal and employee dishonesty. His coverage practice includes advising clients on coverage disputes and providing coverage opinions involving automobile, property and other insurance policies.

Justin also maintains a debt recovery practice, assisting insurers and other clients with the recovery of amounts owing. His experience in debt recovery complements his insurance practice, particularly in matters involving subrogated claims and recovery arising from coverage disputes.

Justin has extensive litigation experience before the Alberta Court of King’s Bench and the Alberta Court of Justice, as well as experience before the Alberta Court of Appeal. He also regularly represents clients in alternative dispute resolution proceedings, including private mediation and Judicial Dispute Resolution. Justin has participated in the resolution of matters ranging from individual injury claims to complex, multi-party construction disputes.
