LaZerte's Level the Field Initiative

Athletics is at the heart of our school and greater community whether through participation in sport as athletes, coaches, fans or parents. It provides us with the opportunity to challenge ourselves both collectively and individually in ways that create a sense of community and achievement. It provides a platform for success and positive habit building that compliments the classroom learning environment, pushing kids to always be striving for excellence. This year, the Field Law Community Fund Program, allowed us to further support and make a positive impact in the lives of some of our most in need student athletes. Our chosen recipients were ones that showcase the qualities and characteristics of what our school athletics program embodies. Many of these student athletes struggled with paying fees not only this year, but in previous years as well and although we always do what we can to provide support, the Field Law Community Fund Program allowed us to vastly improve our reach and impact in the lives of these student athletes. 

Having received this support, these particular athletes were able to be at their best both on and off the court, field or pool, as the financial hurdles they had experienced in the past were no longer an obstacle in their way. Many saw their course averages improve and some were able to play other sports that previously had not been an option due to fees. At M.E. LaZerte, athletics and sport is the beating heart of our community. It provides students with a sense of pride, belonging and accomplishment that they carry throughout their lives. Thank you to the Field Law Community Fund Program for helping us impact the lives of so many deserving student athletes.
