The Idea

To celebrate Alberta Dreams’ 40th anniversary, we will host a series of four regional Music, Maze & Memories events (proposed to be held in Edmonton, Calgary, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge), bringing together past dream recipients and their families for a joyful day of music, interactive challenges, memory sharing, and community connection.

These events will reconnect our “Dream Alumni”, children and families who have faced severe medical challenges — with each other and with the Alberta communities that supported their dreams.

We’re requesting $10,000 for Field Law to become a Presenting Sponsor of this 40th Anniversary event series, helping us celebrate 40 years of courage, kindness, and community across southern and northern Alberta.

Who Will Benefit?

Music, Maze & Memories – 40th Anniversary Alumni Series will directly benefit children and families across Alberta who have faced life-threatening medical conditions, as well as the communities that have supported them over the past four decades.

Alberta Dreams has granted over 1,240 Dreams to children from every corner of Alberta. While a Dream often marks a joyful milestone in a child’s medical journey, many families continue to face long-term physical, emotional, and financial challenges long after their Dream has been fulfilled. These families represent an incredible community of courage, resilience, and hope, yet many feel isolated as they continue navigating life beyond treatments.

This series of regional events, in Edmonton, Calgary, Grande Prairie, and Lethbridge, will reconnect those families through shared experiences of music, creativity, and play. Each Music, Maze & Memories event will welcome 35–50 Dream Alumni families (approximately 150 participants per event not including the public), creating a safe, inclusive, and joy-filled environment where children can simply be kids again, and parents can connect with others who understand their journey.

In addition to these families, the project will benefit the broader Alberta community:

  • Local volunteers who engage with the events gain firsthand experience in compassionate community service, reinforcing empathy and awareness.

  • Local businesses and entertainers who contribute services or performances become part of a positive community tradition that highlights generosity and connection.

  • The general public will be inspired through storytelling, media coverage, and social posts showcasing the legacy of 40 years of Dreams, and the role that collective kindness plays in changing lives.

Beyond the day itself, the ripple effects of Music, Maze & Memories will continue long after the music fades. Families leave with new friendships, renewed confidence, and a strengthened sense of belonging to a community that continues to stand beside them.

By supporting this initiative, Field Law will help bring hope and happiness to hundreds of Alberta families, while reaffirming the power of community to heal, inspire, and unite, one melody, one maze, and one memory at a time.
