The Idea
We are seeking support from the Field Law Community Fund Program to contribute to the first stage of Table Replacement Plan.
The Calgary United Sports Table Tennis Association (CUSTTA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting health, wellness, and community connection through the sport of table tennis. For over 23 years (officially registered in 2002), we have provided a welcoming and inclusive environment for Calgarians of all ages, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
CUSTTA is a registered table tennis association with the Alberta Table Tennis Association (ATTA). We are the largest table tennis club in Alberta with a facility that offers 27 tables, many of which are worn, cracked, and dented, no longer meeting international or provincial competition standards. This poses challenges both for safety and for maintaining our recognition as a provincial-level tournament host.
To ensure safety, inclusivity, and sustainability, CUSTTA has developed a five-year table replacement plan. Each table costs approximately $2,500, for a total long-term investment of $67,500.
We respectfully request $10,000 in funding, which will allow us to replace four (4) tables in 2026.
All installation will be completed by volunteers, ensuring that 100% of funding is applied directly to the purchase of new equipment.
Receipts, quotes, or cost estimates can be provided upon request.
Who Will Benefit?
Each year, CUSTTA hosts and supports hundreds of participants through diverse programs and events. Over thousands people in Calgary and beyond will be benefited from this facility upgrade project. Beside over 360 regular members, people participate activities in CUSTTA include:
