Based in Field Law’s Calgary office, Royce Henning maintains a general civil litigation and insurance defence litigation practice with particular interests in personal injury, motor vehicle claims, condominium disputes, and professional liability.

Royce has successfully represented clients in the Provincial Court of Alberta, Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta, Court of Appeal of Alberta, and before regulatory tribunals. His organized and detailed written submissions and clarity of oral arguments have been praised. Prior to joining Field Law, Royce articled and practiced at a litigation boutique where he gained significant experience in a broad range of legal matters, developing the skills to assist clients to reach resolution through mediations, judicial dispute resolutions, and civil chambers.

He brings a background in health care and health research to his practice of law, having completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences Honours with a focus in neurological research, and attended the Cumming School of Medicine. He uses this knowledge to better understand the context of individuals who have experienced an injury and anticipate their future needs.

Royce is an active volunteer in the legal community with Calgary Legal Guidance’s outreach programs, co-chair of the Southern Alberta Articling Student’s section of the Canadian Bar Association organizing educational seminars, and as a mentor and assessor with the Faculty of Law’s block week courses.

Value to Clients

“My goal as a lawyer is to get to know each unique client and their goals through clear communication and a detailed understanding of their priorities so that I can provide them with practical strategies to meet their legal needs in an efficient and cost-effective manner.”

Outside the Office

Royce relishes friendly competition in everything from board games to recreational hockey, while spending time with family and friends. An avid reader of all genres, Royce also enjoys escaping to the mountains for hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing.
