J.R. MacDonald's practice focuses on tax law, estate planning, and personal and corporate tax planning.
J.R. works with owner-managers of closely-held corporations and their professional advisors to develop and implement strategies and structures to achieve tax-efficiency, wealth-building, asset protection, business succession and personal succession.
Value to Clients
J.R.’s focus is to provide clients with appropriate and timely custom solutions to real client problems. Clients are only interested in solutions that are useful to them and provide them with value. This is particularly important for owner-managers of closely-held businesses who have over the years beaten long odds to achieve viability, profitability and enterprise maturity. In most cases, their business assets represent most of their wealth and their legacy to their family, employees, customers and community.
Outside the Office
In his free time, J.R. loves to ski, golf, fish and shoot (sporting clays). J.R. also works with several charities to achieve their goals and raise their profiles. J.R. also enjoys speaking on the topics of business succession planning, tax-planning and enterprise creation.
