Colin Patterson joined Field Law as an Articling Student in 2019.

During the completion of his Juris Doctor at the University of Calgary, Colin was a finalist at the 2019 Donald G.H. Bowman National Tax Moot; named a Top 5 Oralist for the 2018 McGillivray Moot Competition; served as the VP Finance for the Society of Law Students for two years; placed 3rd in the 2016 Dentons Negotiation Competition; and played on a variety of intramural teams including hockey, rugby and basketball.

Before entering law, Colin gained valuable experience across a variety of industries and roles including Big 4 public accounting; industrial sales; oil and gas well servicing; agribusiness; and construction. He hopes to leverage these experiences in his legal career to the benefit of the client.

Outside the Office

Colin is a concertgoer, slo-pitch regular, jack-of-all-trades, fantasy football league champion and loves taking his dog Marcus with him anywhere he can - including back to the family’s bison ranch in Saskatchewan.
