Field Law Announces Two Partners
Firm Welcomes Malkit Atwal and Sharon Roberts to its Partnership
EDMONTON – Field Law is pleased to introduce Malkit Atwal and Sharon Roberts as partners of the Firm. The addition of Malkit and Sharon to Field’s partnership is an emblem of the Firm’s growth in 2017, and its continued expansion and diversification in key service areas into 2018.
Malkit and Sharon are dedicated to guiding clients through tough legal situations by developing solutions rooted in a deep understanding of their client’s business. They embody the Firm’s commitment to outstanding legal support, offering their individual experience in a range of specializations.
Malkit, who joined Field Law in 2014, is a member of the Firm’s wills, estates and trusts practice, specializing in estate litigation and estate planning. He supports his clients by developing tailored plans to suit their unique needs. Malkit has appeared before different levels of court throughout Alberta, and also participated in hearings before the Court of Appeal of the Northwest Territories and at the Supreme Court of Canada.
Sharon joined the Firm in 2012, and has risen to become a valued member of Field’s commercial litigation, arbitration and occupational health and safety practices. She has appeared before each of Alberta’s courts, in addition to Federal Court and arbitration panels, and assists clients throughout Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. With a background in psychology and a variety of industry experience, Sharon is well positioned to navigate complex legal landscapes for her clients.
Field Law invests in giving back to the communities it operates in. In addition to their work at the Firm, both Malkit and Sharon are active in the legal community. Malkit devotes time to educating others by presenting at legal education seminars, and serves on the Executive of the Canadian Bar Association’s (CBA) Wills, Estates and Trusts sub-section and as the Co-Chair of the CBA’s Elder Law Group. Sharon regularly gives back to the community by acting as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Alberta Lawyers’ Assistance Society, providing evaluation and instruction to articling students through the Legal Education Society of Alberta and supporting pro bono legal service provision in the Edmonton area.
