Jean practices in the area of civil litigation with particular emphasis on construction, surety and insurance law. She has been a partner of Field Law since 1990 and has extensive trial experience. Jean has represented insurance companies and major engineering and construction companies in significant multi-party litigation and has been involved in local arbitration proceedings as well as proceedings under the International Commercial Arbitration Act and the American Arbitration Association Rules for Construction Disputes - Large Complex Cases.

As a complement to her civil litigation practice, Jean has developed and presented seminars for the Calgary Construction Association and Insurance Institute of Canada and has been a guest lecturer for a number of years on construction and surety matters at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Continuing Education and Faculty of Engineering. Jean has been Instructor of Contract Law and Documents, Construction Administration Certificate Program, Faculty of Continuing Education at the University of Calgary.
