Terri Susan's practice focuses on labour and employment law, privacy law, and administrative law. She advises clients on a variety of legal issues arising from the employment relationship such as: wrongful dismissal litigation, settlement negotiations, drafting and reviewing workplace policies, employment contracts and non-competition agreements, as well as managing the plethora of privacy issues that arise in the workplace. In the labour context, Terri Susan assists clients with all stages of grievance arbitration and labour disputes. She also provides advice on human rights complaints. In the privacy context, Terri Susan regularly prepares submissions for matters before the OIPC. In addition to drafting and providing advice about privacy policies, Terri Susan provides clients with strategic, proactive advice about their privacy obligations in order to address privacy issues quickly and effectively. After articling with the Alberta Court of Queen's Bench in Edmonton, Terri Susan completed her articles at Field, and joined the firm as an associate in 2010. Terri Susan completed her first year of law school in McGill University's combined LL.B./B.C.L. program, before transferring to the University of Alberta where she was the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Alberta Law Review in 2007-2008. Prior to studying law, Terri Susan completed a B.A. (Hons.) and an M.A. in English Literature at McGill University. Her Honours thesis focused on the role of literary awards in contemporary fiction and her M.A. thesis, "X = What? Douglas Coupland and the Politics of Postmodernism" was published in 2008. |
