Notable Work

Lindsey Miller practices commercial litigation focusing on security enforcement, bankruptcy and insolvency litigation, collections, commercial lease disputes, Condominium Property Act matters and foreclosures. She also practices in the area of Indigenous law and privacy law. She serves as legal counsel to a major lending institution and bank, trustees and receivers, various condominium corporations, commercial property owners and landlords, several large provincial and federally regulated corporations and a Métis Settlement.

Lindsey appears before all levels of court in Alberta, including the Alberta Court of Appeal, and also represents clients in commercial arbitrations. In 2010, she appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada on behalf of a Métis Settlement in a significant Constitutional matter.

Lindsey has experience applying rare remedies to protect her clients’ interests and preserve valuable evidence in litigation. She has obtained Anton Piller orders and acted as independent supervising solicitor under such orders, which provide the right to search premises and seize evidence. She has also obtained Mareva orders that freeze defendant's assets prior to judgment, and Norwich orders that compel third parties to disclose information or documents for review by a claimant before initiating litigation.

Lindsey is bilingual and can provide service in French and English. She was also a contributor to the annual text, Protection of Privacy in Canadian Private and Health Sectors and Bullen & Leake & Jacob’s Canadian Precedents of Pleadings (1st and 2nd editions).
