Expanding the Field

We are very pleased to announce the newest additions to our Intellectual Property and Technology Group. Neil Kathol, Richard Stobbe and Tom Malyszko will be joining Peter Collins, Tom O’Reilly, Wayne Logan and Lisa Statt Foy. The expanded group will continue to provide practical guidance to our clients in the management of their intellectual property
assets. Neil will lead our newly expanded team. Both Neil and Richard are Registered Trade-Mark Agents (including in Neil’s case, for United States registrations) and Tom is a Registered Trade-Mark and Patent Agent in both Canada and the United States....

Alberta Law Review
Field is an annual supporter of the Alberta Law Review and is also a major contributor to the Alberta Law Review's 50th Anniversary Endowment.

University of Calgary Law School
In addition to having supported the University of Calgary Law School for many years, Field Law most recently committed to supporting the Faculty of Law Strategic Plan - Fostering Excellence: Seizing the Initiative.

Leilani Muir Graduate Research Scholarship
Funded by Field Law in honour of the historical legal victory won by Leilani Muir and hundreds of victims of sterilization; this scholarship was initiated and is funded via the Edmonton Community Foundation and the Calgary Foundation.

TEC Venture Prize
TEC Venture Prize is an Edmonton and area competition to support local entreprenuers. Since its first competition in 2002-2003, Field Law has been a platinum sponsor and contributed a total of $140,000. Lawyers from Field Law have also donated their time each year to present at the legal perspective portion of the Venture Prize seminar series which teaches the fundamentals of a business plan to competitors.

Bechtel Refinery Engineering Award
In honour of our 50th anniversary relationship with Bechtel as a client, Field Law annually provides a scholarship in the undergraduate awards program to an engineering student at the University of Calgary.

The Doug Owram Academic Excellence Scholarship is awarded annually to students with superior achievement entering their first year of an undergraduate degree program.

University of Alberta
Field Law funds the Dane Wintermute Hockey Scholarship awarded to an undergraduate Golden Bears hockey team member on the basis of excellence in hockey, tenacious effort, sportsmanship, leadership, academic standing and financial need.
